Introduction

Water quality is essential for health, agriculture, and various industries. Recently, we evaluated our RNX NERO POWER® system using hyperspectral imaging technology. Here, we present the technology, the results obtained, and how these findings can benefit different sectors, focusing on compliance with drinking water standards.

Why Use Hyperspectral Imaging?

Hyperspectral imaging captures detailed information across a broad spectrum of light, providing precise data about the composition and characteristics of water, similar to a “subatomic microscope.”

Evaluation Results

We evaluated the water from Roquetas de Mar, Spain, before and after treatment with the RNX NERO POWER® system. The results showed significant improvements in the quality of the treated water.

  1. Untreated Water:
    • Images showed significant dark areas, indicating low energy and high contaminant presence.
    • Low energy suggests molecular disorder and limited energy transport capacity.
  2. Treated Water:
    • Increased energy peaks and reduced dark areas, indicating greater purity and molecular order.
    • Reduced entropy in the Hof Plot, reflecting increased molecular order.
  3. Compliance with Drinking Water Standards:
    • Untreated Water: Does not meet the standards set by the 2020/2184 EU regulation due to high contaminant presence.
    • Treated Water: Meets drinking water standards, with significantly fewer contaminants and reduced odors.

Importance for Agriculture and Other Industries

Agriculture:

  • Irrigation Water Quality: Fewer contaminants and better energy state, resulting in healthier plants and higher yields.
  • Resource Optimization: Efficient use of fertilizers, reducing costs and increasing sustainability.

Food Industry:

  • Quality Control: Accurate evaluation of water quality, improving quality control in food production.
  • Food Safety: Reduced contaminants, minimizing health risks and meeting food safety standards.

Municipalities:

  • Water Management: Ensuring the quality of drinking water, reducing contaminants and improving public health.
  • Environmental Monitoring: Real-time evaluation of water status, allowing quick response to contamination issues.

Conclusions

The use of hyperspectral imaging to evaluate the RNX NERO POWER® system has proven effective in improving water quality. The observed benefits, such as reduced contaminants and increased energy potential, not only improve water purity but also offer significant advantages for agriculture, the food industry, and municipalities. This technology ensures compliance with drinking water standards and provides a healthier and more efficient resource.
